Toyota Highlander Window Tint Installation Guide
Work through Toyota Highlander installation from front door panes to the remaining door glass, fixed side panes and rear opening. Plan the cargo-area workspace before peeling the rear liner, and keep the heated pane separate from plain side-glass cleanup.
Identify applied film before trying to remove darkness from Highlander rear glass: factory privacy glass can remain dark after film comes off. Map the rear doors, quarter panes and liftgate separately, keeping powered movement clear of the work area. Match the exact SUV year in the listed 2020–2025 range and leave roof coverage as a separate check.
Prepare Toyota Highlander glass before applying film
Toyota lists privacy glass on the 2021 Highlander’s rear side, quarter and liftgate windows. Power-liftgate equipment varies by grade. Toyota USA 2021 Highlander eBrochure, Highlander models, PDF page 9.
Keep Highlander separate from similarly named models
The listed entry covers Highlander SUVs from 2020–2025. MotorPeak machine-cuts your selected vehicle pattern; contact us for unlisted years or modified glass.
Inventory glass through the rear cargo area
Identify door pieces, fixed side panes and the rear-hatch piece before exposing adhesive. Inspect accessible edges and any heater lines. Describe replacement panes and existing film, and obtain exact-year instructions if trim or equipment prevents access.
Check the listed Toyota Highlander pattern

Use the Toyota Highlander vehicle page to confirm the selection. Keep every liner attached while matching the pieces to the actual panes. If an edge or opening does not match, photograph it and ask for help before cutting or peeling.
Apply the matched pieces and check the edges
Protect the interior from application liquid, finish cleaning the accessible glass edges and follow the installation video and installation sequence. Pre-cut film may still need shaping on curved glass. Follow the supplied curing instructions before operating windows or cleaning fresh film.
For existing film, complete the Toyota Highlander removal checks first. Confirm windshield and roof coverage separately from a sides-and-rear order. Send your vehicle details and photos if a supplied piece or glass feature is uncertain.
Your Toyota Highlander fitting sequence
- Match and clean. Lay each piece on its liner, identify its intended pane and check orientation. Remove old film and glue first. Clean accessible glass edges and seals, then protect switches and trim from liquid.
- Fit a front rolling window. Lower it enough to reach the top edge. Wet the inside glass and exposed adhesive as the liner separates, position the film and squeegee with overlapping passes. Raise the pane carefully to finish the lower section without folding the film.
- Complete the remaining sides. Use the matching rear-door pieces where fitted, then the separate fixed panes. Keep moving gaps, hinges and latches clear; do not trim an unexpected piece merely to make it fit.
- Shape and apply the rear piece. Dry-check curved glass with the liner attached. Shape film on the exterior when needed, using controlled heat and keeping it moving; the final adhesive installation goes on the inside. Keep sharp tools away from heater or antenna traces and leave brake-light output unobstructed.
- Inspect and cure. Check edges, corners and trapped solution before cleanup. Keep newly tinted windows closed for at least five days and wait at least seven days before cleaning. Cold or humid weather can extend drying; mild moisture haze can take up to three weeks to clear.
If the film bunches on curved glass, review shaping and rear-glass access. For haze, bubbles or lifted edges, use the close-up troubleshooting guide.
