Kia Soul Window Tint Installation Guide

Install Kia Soul pre-cut tint in a deliberate order: the four door windows first, any separate fixed side panes next, then the rear hatch glass. Keep the hatch work for last so you can clean its edges, plan your reach and work around the defroster grid without rushing.

Set up your Soul kit and workspace

The listed Soul hatchback pattern covers 2010–2019. Enter your exact year and trim, including EV where applicable, when choosing the kit. Lay the film out on its liners and identify the intended window for each piece. A sides-and-rear kit is separate from windshield or roof film.

Prepare application solution, a clean spray bottle, soft squeegees, lint-free towels and a heat gun for glass that needs shaping. Park in a sheltered, clean workspace. Protect door switches, upholstery and the hatch trim from liquid, and keep the window-lock control where you can operate the door glass when needed.

1. Start with a front door window

Use the front passenger door as your first working pane. Clean the glass and the edges beside the seals. With the liner still attached, check orientation and shape against that window. Lower the glass enough to reach its top edge, then wet the inside surface and exposed adhesive as you separate the liner.

Position the top edge, hold the film flat and squeegee with overlapping passes. Raise the window carefully to finish the lower section and seat it without folding the film. Keep the surface wet while adjusting it. Repeat on the driver’s front door.

2. Complete the rear doors and fixed panes

Use the matching rear-door pieces rather than swapping them with the fronts. Follow the same top-edge-first process. Work on separate fixed side glass where your kit supplies it, keeping the surrounding trim clean so debris does not wash under the film. Inspect edges and corners while you can still correct alignment.

3. Prepare and fit the hatch glass

Clean around the rear wiper area, glass borders and lower hatch trim. The defroster conductors are on the inside glass: keep blades, abrasive pads and hard scraping tools off them. Position the hatch so you have steady access and protect nearby wiring and trim from water.

If the film stands away from the curved glass in long fingers, shape it before the final inside application. Use controlled, moving heat on the film with its liner attached; do not hold a heat gun in one place. Our rear-window fitting section explains the sequence.

4. Check the finish and let it dry

Check the film edges, remaining water channels and sightlines before clearing the workspace. Leave the door windows raised during the initial curing period and use the curing and troubleshooting guide if you see haze, bubbles or an edge lifting. Do not puncture bubbles or pick at the edges.

Replacing film on a Soul?

Remove the old film and adhesive before applying the new pieces. The Kia Soul removal guide covers the hatch defroster, steam and adhesive cleanup.

Order your machine-cut MotorPeak Soul kit or review the Soul years and coverage. Choose front and rear shades separately after checking the requirements for your state.
