Kia Forte Window Tint Installation Guide
Work through Kia Forte installation from front door panes to the remaining door glass, fixed side panes and rear opening. Plan the cargo-area workspace before peeling the rear liner, and keep the heated pane separate from plain side-glass cleanup.
Confirm whether your Forte is a sedan or Forte5 hatchback before matching the rear film. The catalogue lists those bodies separately; a Forte Koup is not a listed body in this table. Access to a sedan’s rear glass differs from a hatch opening, so protect the actual surrounding trim and keep the rear heater lines intact during cleaning.
Prepare Kia Forte glass before applying film
Kia’s 2013 Forte manual identifies heater conductors bonded inside the rear glass and prohibits sharp instruments or abrasive glass cleaners there. Kia 2013 Forte Owner’s Manual, Defroster, printed page 4–67.
Check Forte sedan and hatchback separately
The catalog lists 2010–2013 sedans and 2011–2013 hatchbacks. Select your actual year, body and trim; the listed ranges cover multiple vehicle patterns. MotorPeak machine-cuts your selected vehicle pattern; contact us for unlisted years or modified glass.
Rear glass follows the body selection
Plan access from inside a sedan separately from access through a hatch opening. Identify fixed panes, roll-down glass and the intended rear piece with liners attached. Do not use a Koup or hatchback demonstration to prescribe sedan trim removal.
Check the listed Kia Forte pattern
| Body style | Model years |
|---|---|
| Sedan | 2010–2013 |
| Hatchback | 2011–2013 |
Use the Kia Forte vehicle page to confirm the selection. Keep every liner attached while matching the pieces to the actual panes. If an edge or opening does not match, photograph it and ask for help before cutting or peeling.
Apply the matched pieces and check the edges
Protect the interior from application liquid, finish cleaning the accessible glass edges and follow the installation video and installation sequence. Pre-cut film may still need shaping on curved glass. Follow the supplied curing instructions before operating windows or cleaning fresh film.
For existing film, complete the Kia Forte removal checks first. Confirm windshield and roof coverage separately from a sides-and-rear order. Send your vehicle details and photos if a supplied piece or glass feature is uncertain.
Your Kia Forte fitting sequence
- Match and clean. Lay each piece on its liner, identify its intended pane and check orientation. Remove old film and glue first. Clean accessible glass edges and seals, then protect switches and trim from liquid.
- Fit a front rolling window. Lower it enough to reach the top edge. Wet the inside glass and exposed adhesive as the liner separates, position the film and squeegee with overlapping passes. Raise the pane carefully to finish the lower section without folding the film.
- Complete the remaining sides. Use the matching rear-door pieces where fitted, then the separate fixed panes. Keep moving gaps, hinges and latches clear; do not trim an unexpected piece merely to make it fit.
- Shape and apply the rear piece. Dry-check curved glass with the liner attached. Shape film on the exterior when needed, using controlled heat and keeping it moving; the final adhesive installation goes on the inside. Keep sharp tools away from heater or antenna traces and leave brake-light output unobstructed.
- Inspect and cure. Check edges, corners and trapped solution before cleanup. Keep newly tinted windows closed for at least five days and wait at least seven days before cleaning. Cold or humid weather can extend drying; mild moisture haze can take up to three weeks to clear.
If the film bunches on curved glass, review shaping and rear-glass access. For haze, bubbles or lifted edges, use the close-up troubleshooting guide.
