Hyundai Tucson Window Tint Installation Guide
Work through Hyundai Tucson installation from front door panes to the remaining door glass, fixed side panes and rear opening. Plan the cargo-area workspace before peeling the rear liner, and keep the heated pane separate from plain side-glass cleanup.
Tucson kit selection needs a generation check: the catalogue lists 2005–2009 and 2016–2019 SUVs, with a gap between them. Inspect the rear opening, fixed side glass and door panes before wet work. Keep cleaning tools away from the rear heater lines, and confirm your actual year rather than treating both listed ranges as one glass pattern.
Prepare Hyundai Tucson glass before applying film
Hyundai’s 2016 Tucson manual identifies rear-window conductors bonded to the inner glass and prohibits sharp instruments or abrasive window cleaners there. Hyundai 2016 Tucson Owner’s Manual, Defroster, printed page 3–126.
The Tucson listing has a gap
Two SUV ranges are listed: 2005–2009 and 2016–2019. Do not change an unlisted year to the closest available year; request an exact pattern check first. Listed ranges do not establish identical patterns or procedures across years. Select the exact year, body and trim. MotorPeak machine-cuts your selected vehicle pattern; contact us for unlisted years or modified glass.
Keep the two ranges separate during planning
Record the exact year, trim and fixed side-pane layout. Match rear-hatch and door pieces independently with liners attached and report any unexplained shape before applying film.
Check the listed Hyundai Tucson pattern
| Body style | Model years |
|---|---|
| SUV | 2005–2009 |
| SUV | 2016–2019 |
Use the Hyundai Tucson vehicle page to confirm the selection. Keep every liner attached while matching the pieces to the actual panes. If an edge or opening does not match, photograph it and ask for help before cutting or peeling.
Apply the matched pieces and check the edges
Protect the interior from application liquid, finish cleaning the accessible glass edges and follow the installation video and installation sequence. Pre-cut film may still need shaping on curved glass. Follow the supplied curing instructions before operating windows or cleaning fresh film.
For existing film, complete the Hyundai Tucson removal checks first. Confirm windshield and roof coverage separately from a sides-and-rear order. Send your vehicle details and photos if a supplied piece or glass feature is uncertain.
Your Hyundai Tucson fitting sequence
- Match and clean. Lay each piece on its liner, identify its intended pane and check orientation. Remove old film and glue first. Clean accessible glass edges and seals, then protect switches and trim from liquid.
- Fit a front rolling window. Lower it enough to reach the top edge. Wet the inside glass and exposed adhesive as the liner separates, position the film and squeegee with overlapping passes. Raise the pane carefully to finish the lower section without folding the film.
- Complete the remaining sides. Use the matching rear-door pieces where fitted, then the separate fixed panes. Keep moving gaps, hinges and latches clear; do not trim an unexpected piece merely to make it fit.
- Shape and apply the rear piece. Dry-check curved glass with the liner attached. Shape film on the exterior when needed, using controlled heat and keeping it moving; the final adhesive installation goes on the inside. Keep sharp tools away from heater or antenna traces and leave brake-light output unobstructed.
- Inspect and cure. Check edges, corners and trapped solution before cleanup. Keep newly tinted windows closed for at least five days and wait at least seven days before cleaning. Cold or humid weather can extend drying; mild moisture haze can take up to three weeks to clear.
If the film bunches on curved glass, review shaping and rear-glass access. For haze, bubbles or lifted edges, use the close-up troubleshooting guide.
