Dodge Nitro Window Tint Installation Guide

Work through Dodge Nitro installation from front door panes to the remaining door glass, fixed side panes and rear opening. Plan the cargo-area workspace before peeling the rear liner, and keep the heated pane separate from plain side-glass cleanup.

For a Dodge Nitro, match the kit to the SUV’s year, identify each door and fixed rear-side piece, and prepare the liftgate glass without scraping its heater lines. MotorPeak lists Nitro SUV patterns for 2007–2011. Confirm your exact configuration before removing any backing liner.

Match the Nitro kit before wetting the glass

Enter “Dodge Nitro,” the model year and trim in the Nitro tint order. Include details of replacement glass. A Liberty kit is not a substitute for a Nitro pattern, even if the vehicles look similar.

With the liners still attached, label the supplied pieces by window position. Separate the rolling door windows, fixed rear-side glass and liftgate pane. Stop and confirm the pattern if an edge, opening or supplied piece does not match your actual glass.

Prepare the liftgate as its own work area

The 2011 Nitro owner’s manual describes the liftgate opening on page 38. Its glass-care instructions on pages 430–431 prohibit abrasive cleaners and warn against sharp scraping tools on heated interior rear glass.

Before installation, inspect the liftgate’s heater lines and connections, photograph existing damage, and cover the cargo trim against runoff. Clean around the electrical traces gently. Old adhesive needs to be removed before retinting; use the Nitro removal guide if film is already installed. Dark glass alone does not show that there is removable film.

Install one confirmed piece at a time

  1. Check that the window operates normally before applying film. Protect the Nitro’s door switches, seals and interior surfaces from application liquid.
  2. Finish cleaning the glass and accessible edges. Keep the clean adhesive side away from trim and dusty cargo-area surfaces.
  3. Follow the pre-cut installation method and installation video for positioning, liner removal and squeegeeing. Pre-cut film still needs careful placement; curved glass may need shaping.
  4. Inspect for trapped debris, creases and lifted edges, then follow the supplied film’s curing instructions before operating the windows or cleaning the film.

Choose the coverage you need

The Nitro sides-and-rear order page connects this pane checklist to the correct vehicle selection. Windshield and roof film are separate coverage questions. For a windshield request, confirm the exact pattern and any glass-mounted equipment first. Use fitment support for an uncertain year, changed pane or unexpected kit piece.

Your Dodge Nitro fitting sequence

  1. Match and clean. Lay each piece on its liner, identify its intended pane and check orientation. Remove old film and glue first. Clean accessible glass edges and seals, then protect switches and trim from liquid.
  2. Fit a front rolling window. Lower it enough to reach the top edge. Wet the inside glass and exposed adhesive as the liner separates, position the film and squeegee with overlapping passes. Raise the pane carefully to finish the lower section without folding the film.
  3. Complete the remaining sides. Use the matching rear-door pieces where fitted, then the separate fixed panes. Keep moving gaps, hinges and latches clear; do not trim an unexpected piece merely to make it fit.
  4. Shape and apply the rear piece. Dry-check curved glass with the liner attached. Shape film on the exterior when needed, using controlled heat and keeping it moving; the final adhesive installation goes on the inside. Keep sharp tools away from heater or antenna traces and leave brake-light output unobstructed.
  5. Inspect and cure. Check edges, corners and trapped solution before cleanup. Keep newly tinted windows closed for at least five days and wait at least seven days before cleaning. Cold or humid weather can extend drying; mild moisture haze can take up to three weeks to clear.

If the film bunches on curved glass, review shaping and rear-glass access. For haze, bubbles or lifted edges, use the close-up troubleshooting guide.

Choose a machine-cut MotorPeak tint kit. Estimated 7–10 days total for cutting, processing and shipping. Check your state's finished glass-and-film requirements before selecting shades.
