2022 Ram 1500 Window Tint Removal Guide
If the film is already off your 2022 Ram 1500’s front windows, inspect for adhesive before installing new tint. The matched shop video starts at that cleanup stage. Record the DT or Classic designation, cab and fixed or sliding rear-glass layout when arranging removal and ordering replacement film.
Plan for adhesive cleanup before opening new film
- Identify what remains. Record which windows still have film and which have exposed residue. The front-window problem shown here is leftover adhesive after removal, not a bare pane ready for immediate installation.
- Protect the door interior. Keep cleanup liquid away from switches, speakers, upholstery, and the door cavity. Use the directions for the actual cleaning product and verify its suitability for your glass and surrounding materials.
- Have the surface checked before scraping. The video shows a professional using a blade on a front door pane. That does not establish compatibility with your replacement glass, surface treatment, or rear-window elements. Confirm the glass manufacturer's restrictions; stop if you cannot identify a safe cleanup method.
- Inspect the whole pane and accessible edges. View the cleaned surface from different angles under good light. Remaining adhesive and debris need attention before retinting; do not cover them with a new piece.
- Prepare again for installation. Follow the replacement film's cleaning and drying instructions after removal. A removal product's waiting time must come from its label, not from the speed of an edited video.
Keep rear-glass care separate from front-door scraping
For the 2022 Ram 1500 DT, the official owner's manual, Rear Defrost Button and Glass Surfaces sections, warns against abrasive cleaners and sharp scraping tools on the inside rear glass. Its cleaning guidance calls for a soft cloth and mild solution, moving parallel to the heating elements. These are manufacturer glass-care instructions, not a tint-removal procedure. Owners of a 1500 Classic should use the manual for that model.
Photograph the rear elements and check their operation before work. Tell the installer about an existing fault, repaired trace, or replacement pane. Treat the sliding section and fixed panes as separate surfaces; retain clearance for the slider and seals. If film removal starts lifting an element, stop and have the glass assessed.
Confirm your 2022 Ram pattern before ordering
Our Ram 1500 ordering page does not publish a verified year-and-cab range. This video does not prove kit availability. Send us the exact year, full model wording including Classic if applicable, cab style, door count, and fixed or sliding rear-glass details for a fitment check before paying.
After fitment is confirmed, use the sides-and-rear tint kit and follow the Vehicle fitment and glass checks. Windshield film is separate. Compare supplied pieces with the actual panes while their protective liners are still attached.
For the full preparation checklist, see our removal and replacement overview. Find other verified examples in the vehicle removal directory.

S3 Tint — Tint Removal & Replacement: 2022 Dodge Ram 1500. The title and description identify the year and model. The truck has rear doors and a sliding rear window; the source does not explicitly identify its cab designation or trim. Do not use this example as confirmation that another cab, a Ram 1500 Classic, or a different rear-glass assembly uses the same pattern or access procedure.
Watch the original 17-minute video.
- 0:45–1:19: the installer explains that the front film was already removed and adhesive remains; he also identifies peeling film on the rear glass.
- 2:39–8:54: front-door adhesive cleanup, edge inspection, and rinsing. The installer finds additional residue during the inspection.
- 9:05–13:18: final preparation and replacement of the front-door film.
- 14:07 onward: additional rear-window work appears as edited footage rather than a narrated, complete rear-removal procedure.
The initial front-film peel is not demonstrated. The shade choices and regional inspection discussion belong to this customer's job; they are not a shade recommendation or a statement of the rules where you drive.
